Roll Tide!

Ok-to all my family and friends-these are Alabama outfits. I'm sorry, but it is a lot easier to make friends in Alabama when you don't cheer at the sound of Rocky Top!! So after 7 years of living here I decided to conform (plus its easier to cheer for a good/winning team). The one positive thing that you can be proud of is that I made their shirts and their pants (even if they are the wrong color)!

Gymnastics

Judson and Lila have started taking gymnastics. I do believe that this is the highlight of my week. It cracks me up to watch these little people try to do gymnastics. The funniest part though, is watching Lila prance around like the attention seeker she is!! Judson's class is for 3/4 year olds so he does everything with the teacher and every 5 minutes he runs over to me to ask when it is going to be over. Lila's class is a mommy and me class and I have to get out there with her.

Beach Bums

The kids and I went to the beach in September with my parents. We had a wonderful time. The kids love the beach so much that it makes me want to take them all the time. Lila (once again) was my mom's "surf baby." The two of them love to sit in a chair at the edge of the water. Judson loves to splash in the waves. They were pretty big this time. We were both getting knocked down. My dad helped Judson fly his kite and build roads with his construction trucks. We saw several jellyfish that had washed up onto the beach. The one in the picture is actually about the size of a pizza! As always, I am ready to go back to the beach!!

Back to School

Judson helped Lila go in on her first day of school. He is the best big brother! She loves it. Everyday I ask her if she wants to go to school and she says "babies" and runs to the door. I am not sure if she is talking about dolls or the other kids in her class! Judson started a new school this year. He is in the 3K program at Saint Joseph School. We are so excited about all the things he is going to learn and do this year. He loves his teacher and several of his friends from the street are in his class.

Collins Clan Reunion

We had a Collins family reunion at our lake house this summer. It was the first time in a long time that everyone could be together. And boy, were we!! Ten adults and eight kids(7yrs old and younger in one house). It was WILD!!! We had a great time and the kids enjoyed being outside. They played on the water slide, rode the on the raft, swam in the river and went for a ride on the boat. It was a great weekend and I can't wait until the next reunion!!

More Handy Fest

Wednesday night during Handy Fest week our church had an outdoor concert. It was really neat. The kids got to run around and play and the adults got to run around and chase them!! Its a good thing Judson and Lila like music because I actually talked them into sitting down and listening (at least for a minute). Then they decided to get up and dance in front of everyone. Gotta love it!

Trowbridges and Handy Fest

We strolled over to Trowbridges and got some ice cream and then went to Wilson Park ("fountain park") to listen to a little Handy Fest music. Judson loves vanilla ice cream and Lila needed to taste test the chocolate. I could not get enough of her sweet face with chocolate ice cream all over it. Too Cute!!

July 4th

We spent the fourth of July weekend at our lake house. We had a big party on Saturday and a lot of our friends and family came over. The kids love it out there because they get to play outside all day. Judson loves to swim in the river and he even gets in there by himself. Thank goodness, because I am too scared to get in!!!

Family Vacation

This summer we went to the beach with Kirk and Tara. It was so much fun having another family to hang out with. The kids had a great time playing together in the sun and sand. Judson wanted to ride the "Big Kahuna's" with Courtlyn. Lila wanted to sit beside Grandmother in the surf and dig with her shovel. It was a blast and I can't wait for the next beach trip! (neither can Judson. He asks me about once a week if we can go back to the beach today!!)

I took Lila to the park for a picnic before we had to pick Judson up from school. She had a great time playing in the fountain and running around. Some man picked a flower off the tree and gave it to her. She loved it!!
Lila loves to push her baby around the house in the stroller and she stopped to pose for a picture.

T-Ball

Judson is on a little t-ball team. They are the Cardinals. It is a highlight of my week to go to t-ball games. It is so funny!! I'm not sure many of them even want to play, but they do anyway. If they are actually paying attention they fight over the ball and when they hit it off the t they have to be told which base to run to. I am not sure what I was expecting when we signed him up but if a good laugh (for me) is all we get out of it this year that will be fine.
Judson is not a bad little player though!!!

I am going to start with Lila's 1st birthday which was December 17th. Lila had a cupcake party and because she still had a milk allergy I had to make hers but everybody else got to eat "real" cupcakes!

Happy Birthday Judson!!

Judson turned 3 on November 25th and we had his birthday party at Forrest Jumps. It was a lot of fun!! My favorite part was that I did not have to clean before or after the party! The kids favorite part was bouncing on the moon walks and going down the big slide. We had lots of friends and family come to the party and we are so glad that everyone could come.

This is a really big slide show because I have not posted anything in such a long time. We did a lot of fun stuff this summer and these are just some of the pictures to tell the story. We had a Fourth of July party in our unfinished house, we moved in August, and Judson and Lila had their first airplane trip. Lila had lots of firsts from food to wagon rides and swinging at the park. Judson and Lila got to meet Otis (Tommy's cute dog). Judson got to take his baby sister on a four wheeler ride!!! And of course there were lots of cute moments every day that I needed to capture

Visit to Grandmother and Granddaddy's House

We went to Kingston Springs to spend a few days with Grandmother and Granddaddy. We all had so much fun and were sad to leave. Judson got to do lots of exciting things while we were there. One day he went to Cub Scout camp with Granddaddy and got to be a Cub Sprout for the day. Then they went to McDonald's and ate lunch and played on the playground. We went to Boo Boo's and ate red jello and swung in the swing. We ate dinner at Bob and Martha's one night and Judson got to play with a big box of Robby's old trucks and cars, which he loved beyond measure and he got to play pool with Bob (Bob let him climb up on the table, so beware if you play pool with Judson). We also went swimming at Bob and Martha's one day and Judson showed off his aquatic skills. Judson got a new apron from Grandmother and he wore it to cook all his meals. There are too many fun things to mention that Judson did at Grandmother's house so you'll just have to check out the pictures. We really enjoyed spending time with all of our family and can't wait to see everyone again soon!!
P.S. I didn't leave Lila out she just doesn't do much except sit around and look cute!

Maw's 80th Birthday Party

Maw celebrated her 80th birthday on June, 17. On Father's Day we had a big birthday bash for Maw at Linda and Gary's house. It was a really nice party and everyone enjoyed themselves. The Collins Cousins (minus 2) had a great time playing together and helping Maw open her gifts. Happy Birthday Maw!!!

Happy Birthday Abby

We had tons of fun at Abby's 2nd birthday party. Abby had a book themed party and we love books! Judson got to make a bookmark with Thomas the Train stickers and markers and he ate pizza rolls and bananas and drank all the juice boxes. W e had a great time hanging out and playing with every body. Carrigan and Lila had lots of fun together also. They played "whose paci is it anyway." Thanks for the good time Abby!!!

We Love the Beach!!!

Our good friends Bob and Jenny invited us to go to the beach with them. We had a terrific time! The guys got to play golf and the girls got to hang out on the beach all day with seven kids. Much to Judson's excitement, we stayed in a "big, big, big pink house." Every morning, after waking up before the crack of dawn, Judson wanted to go to the beach. He had so much fun playing in the waves and tickling his toes in the water. There were a lot of jellyfish in the water and just about everyone got stung. All the kids made a habitat out of Bob's cooler and they put shells and fish and clams in it. Some nice ladies from down the beach also put a crab in there.
Lila also had a great time. She had lots of little girls to play with. She also got to experience some new flavors. Lila had her first banana and avocado while we were at the beach. Judson and Lila have become big buddies and she loves him so much.

Happy Mother's Day!!!

For Mother's Day Brooks sent me on a long needed vacation. My mom, Judson, Lila and I went to Panama City Beach for a long weekend. Being at the beach is so relaxing, it makes even the 5 a.m. wakeup calls bearable. We had a blast while we were there. We dug holes in the sand, ate lunch at the beach and tickled our toes in the ocean. Judson loved being at the beach and did not want to come home (I don't blame him). He was a real character and every one around us couldn't keep their eyes off of him. The last day there my mom and I actually had 45 minutes of alone ocean time while Judson and Lila snoozed in the pop up tent. It was a real margarita moment (oops! I mean marvelous moment)! Thank you Brooks for being such a wonderful husband and providing this opportunity for us. Thanks to Eric and Alicia for letting us rent their condo. It was a fantastic trip.

We had a great Easter. Judson got to go to three Easter Egg hunts. The first one was at Turtle Point. When we got there we had pictures made with the Easter Bunny. Lila loved the Easter Bunny, but she loves everybody. Then, Judson hunted eggs and decided to eat a lot of chocolate balls and roll down the hill in his new shirt. After that, we went to the Easter Egg hunt on Walnut St. It was lots of fun and all of our neighborhood friends were there. On Sunday morning Judson and Lila woke up to discover the Easter bunny had been to their house and left a jelly bean trail to their baskets. And of course, Judson had more chocolate and a roll of Pez candy for breakfast. After church we went to our third and final egg hunt. By this time Judson had become a real pro and he found lots of egg (some even had money in them). It was a very fun weekend but we were all exhausted by the end of it.

Snow

Saturday morning we woke up to snow. Granted, it wasn't much but it was enough to be excited about. I let Judson go outside in his jammies because I was afraid it would melt before I could get his clothes on (especially since he tells mommy no about everything). Later, we went outside and made snow balls. Judson liked throwing them in the pool. He thought they looked like ice cubes.

It's Been a Long Time

We went to Kirk and Tara's house President's Day weekend and had a great time. Kirk cooked lots of good food and all the babies had fun playing together. We look forward to hanging out again soon.

Chuck E. Cheese

We went to Chuck E. Cheese Monday night to celebrate our friend Greg's 39th birthday. It was Judson's first time at ole Chuck's and he had a blast. He drove Bob the Builder's bulldozer and played skeetball (he actually got a ball up there). We ate pizza and had a great time playing games and winning prizes. Even Lila joined in on the fun, sort of!!

Christmas Time

These pictures are from the time we came home from the hospital when Lila was born until the day after Christmas. Yes, they are a little dated, but better late than never.
We had a great Christmas. We went to Nana and Papa's house on Christmas Eve and Judson had a great time playing with Abby and entertaining Daddy George and Mama Lillian. Lila made her first road trip and slept most of the time. Uncle Brent wanted to hold her and Abby couldn't figure out why she couldn't touch the baby. Judson and Lila got lots of nice presents at Nana's house.
On Christmas Day Judson woke up to find a train set that Santa had brought him. He had a great time playing trains with Daddy. Judson also liked seeing what was in his stocking. Of course, Lila had a stocking too and she even tried to get in it. Lila got lots of baby dolls this Christmas. I think every one wanted to give her her first baby doll. Later that day Grandmother and Granddaddy came with more presents. Judson was so excited! He helped carry them in from the car. Not only did he get to open all the presents to him, he also got to open Lila's and Mommy's. He had a field day. It was a wonderful holiday and I enjoyed watching Judson have so much fun. Hopefully one day soon we can stop listening to Christmas music!!!

Uncle Kirk and Aunt Tara came to visit with Courtlyn and Carrigan the day after Christmas. Lila and Carrigan had to have there picture made together because they are going to be best buds.

HOME SWEET HOME

Dr. Hamilton just left our room and has released Lila from the hospital. HURRAY!!! This is our 8th day and we are ready to go home. Lila is obviously much improved but is still not 100%. It usually takes another 3-4 days before she is totally rid of the virus. Lila got great care and medical attention and we feel blessed for that, but hopefully we won't see this place ever again.

GOOD NEWS for the NEW YEAR!!

A.M. Dr. gave Lila some very positive feed back. Dr. felt like we were on the recovery side of the virus. While, she is still having some crackling noises in her lungs, it seems to be improving. In order to go home Lila must begin coming off of the oxygen. We have reduced her oxygen by half and she is responding extrememly well. So well that we've reduced it again. Her heart rate is down and her O2 Sats are staying high. She is not laboring to breath hardly at all. It has been her most peaceful day by far. The nurses that saw her a couple of days ago are very impressed with the progress she has made. Hopefully we will be home soon!! She does have to be completely off Oxygen for at least 24 straight hours before being released. If we don't get her off today, we should start tomorrow. Thank you for all the prayers.

Update on Lila

Lila is continuing to do well. We are still in the hospital so that she can remain on the oxygen and be monitored. She still has a lot of congestion and "noises" in her lungs. She also has fluid behind both ear drums. Lila is being treated with antibiotics which help with the ears and the lungs. It is still just a wait it out kind of illness. As of today, we are expecting to be in the hospital until at least Thursday. The good news is that the Dr. does not really think she will get worse and she seems to be pretty stable and peaceful.

Lila fights RSV

On Thursday, December 27, we took Lila to the Dr. office because she was coughing and not nursing well. It turned out that she has RSV, which is a respiratory virus. Because she is so young and RSV can cause severe breathing difficulties she had to be admitted to the hospital. The Dr.'s told us she would probably get worse before she got better and so far this has been the case. During the night on Friday she spiked a fever and therefore had to put on IV fluids and antibiotics. She also had to have some blood work done. On Saturday morning she had to have a spinal tap. All these things are standard protocol for infants. These tests are being done to make sure we are not missing some other infection. Before all is said and done, Lila could have ear infections and possibly even pneumonia. RSV is basically a really bad cold with lots of snot and congestion and since babies don't really have an immune system and a way to get rid of the mucus is makes breathing difficult and allows the drainage to move to the other parts of the body such as the lungs and ears. She is doing fine and basically following the normal path of RSV. The best thing for Lila is to be at the hospital where she can be monitored. We really appreciate everyone's concern. Please continue to pray for Lila to get well and for Brooks and I to be able to handle any situation that comes our way.

Lila Grace Collins

Lila Grace Collins was born Monday, 12-17-2007 at 8:38 am.
She weighed 7 lbs. 6 oz. and was 19 inches long. Everyone is doing great and we are all at home now. Judson was so excited to finally see his baby sister. He wanders around the house saying where is baby Lila. Thanks to all of our friends and family who came to the hospital to visit and for keeping us in your prayers.

Judson's Final Week of being the Only Child

Judson has had a really fun week. On Wednesday he made a gingerbread train. Surprisingly, he did not want to eat all of the candy and he did a great job putting it on the train. On Thursday night we took Judson to see Santa at the mall. Judson did not cry and he sat in Santa's lap and told him he wanted trains for Christmas. Judson is so excited and can't wait for Santa to come to his house.

Judson's 2nd Birthday

Judson had a great second birthday. The party had a fire truck theme and it turned out to be a lot of fun. A real fire truck drove by the house and Judson ran out to see it and ran into the arms of a firefighter (much to my amazement). Judson had a great time playing with his friends and family. Judson got a lot of cool toys for his birthday. Mommy is very glad because now she has something new to play with too!!! He also got a fire truck for his birthday and did a pretty good job of sharing it. Thanks to everyone who came and helped make his day so special.

Happy Thanksgiving

We had a great Thanksgiving. We spent the day at Nana and Papa's house and then we went to Mama Lillian and Daddy George's house for Thanksgiving dinner. Judson had a great time playing with Stratton and Lily. Judson loves to play with cars and Stratton was happy to play too.

Carrigan Klark Collins

Carrigan Klark Collins was born November 13, 2007 at 10:47 p.m. She weighed 8lbs 12 oz and was 19 inches. We are so excited to have a new niece and can't wait to meet her. Congratulations Kirk, Tara and Courtlyn!!

Trick O' Treat

Judson was a little Devil for Halloween. He had so much fun. We trick or treated on Walnut St. and as soon as we got there he took off down the sidewalk. No one was home at the very first stop, but that didn't slow down the Devil. Judson got lots of candy (that he won't be allowed to eat of course).

This is outlaw Tommy. He is our GC for our house on Walnut and Sophie and Isabelle twins that will live 2 doors down.

At the end of the night Judson's bag was very heavy but he wouldn't let Brooks carry it. I think he was afraid Brooks would eat his candy.

Pumpkin Carving

Judson and Brooks carved a pumpkin on Sunday afternoon. Judson was not real sure about the pumpkin guts, but he loved watching Brooks carve the face. After all the hard work of carving the pumpkin Judson had to stop and smell the roses... I mean mums.

Pumpkin Patch

We took Judson to McGee Farm to the pumpkin patch.
He had a lot of fun. Judson got to see some goats and chickens. Then we went on a wagon ride to the real pumpkin patch and he got to pick a pumpkin. Brooks helped Judson find the perfect one.

First Glimpse of Baby Lila

We had our 3D/4D ultrasound today. Lila did so good. She had her fists in front of her face, but then she moved them and we got a good look at her sweet little face. She was grinning and opening her mouth. We can't wait to see her in person

Judson was afraid of the ocean at first, but he eventually liked it.
When the waves were really big he would cry and not get in. When
they were smaller he would say "get in ocean". Then we would put
him in his float boat and he loved it.

He wanted to go to the pool a lot too!! He would swim and push his truck
around in the water. Then he would do an underwater dive with Brooks.

We had a great weekend at the beach. Now that
we are home Judson still wants to "get in ocean". It was a wonderful vacation to have before
baby Lila gets here.

The Last Getaway

Judson went on his first beach trip since he was seven weeks old.
We had so much fun. We stayed in Eric and Alicia's condo in Panama City Beach.

Brooks and Judson played in the sand. Brooks buried Judson, they built sand castles
(sort of) and played with Judson's "big truck".

Judson and his "girlfriend" Ella went to the park this week. They had a lot of fun playing in the tunnel and going down the slide. Judson really likes to swing too.
